Jenson Button in Manchester

This post is a bit late, and it's the first in a while but oh well, I've not had much to post about really!

So, this Monday (29th) I went into Manchester to go watch Jenson Button drive about in an F1 car! What a day it was!

With my dad's camera in hand we arrived at Deansgate at about 10:15am and waited for the action to commence! Here are a few snaps of where we were. [Click on any of the photos to see it bigger and better!]

Return of the Zen

For the past year or so I have been assuming that my good ol' Creative Zen Vision: M has been dead. It wouldn't charge, connect to my PC nor would it turn on, so I hid it in a draw and left it there to be dead in peace.

But, the other day I was missing being able to listen to music on the go, so I plugged it into my PC via the USB cable and left it to charge for a good few hours.
Surprise surprise, after about 4/5 hours of charging there was life!

As you can see in the picture it is happily playing the video for American Idiot by Green Day.

It feels good to have it back working, of course there is a lot of crap on there, I don't know why I used to like some of the stuff but I can easily delete it.

So yeh, I "fixed" it! My guess is the battery must have been completely dead and so just needed a good charge to kick start it back into action! Now all I have to do is copy all the good stuff onto my PC, delete the crappy stuff and I'm good to go.

Well, almost good to go. I found out one of the earphones if broken, meaning I can only listen to music in the one ear (right). So now I have to try and find a decent, but cheap, pair of headphones... great!

Shower Leg Memory Problems?

nerimon (the popular but not-quite-as-popular-as-his-friend-charlieissocoollike youtuber) posted a video yesterday, 19th July, in which he stated whilst having a shower he washed one leg, and then forgot which leg it was that he washed.
Brilliant!
I can now sleep well tonight knowing that I'm not the only person who does this! Phew!

You can see the video belowww!

Vettel Snatches Drivers' World Championship

Yesterday Sebastian Vettel snatched the Formula 1 Drivers' World Championship out of the hands of Fernando Alonso and Mark Webber at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi.

At the start of the weekend there were a total of four drivers who could walk away from Abu Dhabi as the 2010 Formula 1 World Champion (although Hamilton needed something close to a miracle). Fernando Alonso was leading the Championship going to the race, with Mark Webber trailing by 8 points, Sebastian Vettel 15pts behind and Lewis Hamilton 24pts behind.
So, Vettel went on to get pole position in qualifying with Lewis Hamilton behind him, followed by Fernando Alonso, Jenson Button and then Mark Webber.

It was an awesome race, Mark Webber and Fernando Alonso both pitted quite early on and as a result they were stuck behind Vitaly Petrov for a majority of the afternoon, this would prove to be the end of both of their Championship hopes.

Sebastian Vettel brought it home in 1st with Lewis and Jenson 2nd and 3rd respectively.
I'm a big Lewis Hamilton and McLaren fan but I was happy that Sebastian Vettel was the champion this year. Yes, it would have been nice to have Lewis win another title but (compared to the Red Bull) the McLaren has been relatively slow this year and he did extremely well to get so many good results. I also HATE Fernando Alonso, not just because of his caterpillar eyebrows but because he's just a genuine douche. Mark Webber is an OK guy but can moan a bit too much and sometimes can take losing very well.

Sebastian Vettel deserved this title in my eyes, I said he would win at the beginning of the season, the way he handled it all towards the end of the season (for such a young guy in F1) was admirable.
I can see him being a title contender in many more seasons.

Admirable drivers this season (Outside of the top 5/6):
  • Robert Kubica: This guy will be a champion someday, if not then a bloody good contender!
  • Nico Rosberg: Highest finisher outside of the top three teams, and beat his teammate (THE Michael Schumacher) by 70 points! He also finisehed just 2pts behind Felipe Massa.
  • Nico Hülkenberg: For his performance in qualifying in Sao Paulo.

Who could have done better? (In my eyes)
  •  Felipe Massa: He really underperformed this season, especially in comparison to Fernando. Maybe that bump on his head hasn't worn off yet.
  • Jenson Button: I like McLaren having an all British team but I dislike that Jenson Button cannot drive well unless the car is almost perfect for him. Lewis manages to get the most out of the car most of the time, whether the setup is good or not he pushes as hard as he can. Jenson just moans about the handling and doesn't appear to push so much.
  • Vitaly Petrov: His drive for next year is in jeopardy and even his good performance in the final race of the season might not be enough to save him. Compared to Kubica he has done shockingly bad this season.

I can't wait for next season now, I just hope McLaren can be strong right from the start of the season. I want to see Lewis grab his second title!
