Hamilton & Button Feeling Positive

Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button have both announced that they are hopeful for next weekends Singapore Grand Prix.
The Singapore track is a relatively low-speed track similar to the hungaroring where McLaren were almost 2 seconds off the pace of the Red Bulls. So why are McLaren so upbeat about Singapore?
The moment Hamilton's Monza GP ended early.
He'll be hoping he can score some solid points
in Singapore next week.

The reason for the difference McLaren believe was due to the flexible front wing of the Red Bulls (and Ferraris, but not as much). Recent modifications to cars due to the controversy over these felxi-wings has seemingly affected the Red Bulls and Ferraris (in the eyes of McLaren) and so the drivers are looking hopeful for the Championship race.

Recent upgrades to the car could also help McLaren out, according to Lewis, who said: "We head into the weekend with renewed confidence following some positive tests and some developments in the winds tunnel."

Singapore will be an important race for the McLaren's, with the remaining five races all supposedly favouring the Red Bulls and Ferraris, it is vital that McLaren finish strongly and show they're strong contenders for the Championship.

I'll leave you with a suitable quote from Jenson Button:
"I think Singapore will give us a clearer idea of the destiny of the world championship."
